In 1976, counties throughout the U.S. chose a special "Bicentennial Project" to mark the nation's anniversary. Chesterfield residents decided to build a History Museum. This effort was led by members of the Chesterfield Ruritan Clubs who had been collecting historic items for decades. Most items were stored in the attics and basements of County residents, so the time was right to build a museum of Chesterfield history. The speaker will be Liess van der Linden-Brusse, Chair, Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia's Library Committee.
